Umm Al Emarat Park, Abu Dhabi

Recreation – Parks & Beaches

Umm Al Emarat is a community themed park with a wide range of attractions for visitors, including a botanical garden; an animal barn with a petting zoo for children; an amphitheatre with the capacity of seating 2,500 people; and, The Wisdom Garden: a peaceful space allocated to reflection and meditation. Umm Al Emarat is also home to the Shade House, a viewing platform overlooking the park, that has been specially designed to avoid the escalation of heat throughout the day. The cooler atmosphere provides an ideal environment for the cultivation of a multitude of tropical palms and plants, that are flourishing under the park’s care. As one of the oldest and largest urban parks in Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Emarat first opened to the public in 1982, as Mushrif Park, before undergoing a massive refurbishment endeavour and reopening in 2014, with its new name. The new park was designed in honour of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose vision was to preserve the cultural history and natural beauty of the Emirates.

Proscape was contracted to execute the complete landscaping works for the project, including soft landscaping, hard landscaping, landscape lighting, water features and architectural metal works.
