Built opposite the world-renown Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Martyr’s Memorial Park is a lasting tribute to UAE’s fallen military heroes, and is located in Abu Dhabi, the nation’s capital. At the heart of Wahat Al Karama is The Memorial Plaza, an open amphitheatre-style space, with the seating capacity of 1,200 people. The plaza features an enormous monument of aluminium-clad leaning panels, designed by British artist Idris Khan, to represent humanity’s principal qualities of mutual support and interdependence. Next to the monument, is acwide glittering shallow pool, that perfectly captures the reflection of the Memorial monument and the Grand Mosque behind it.
Proscape was contracted to execute the soft landscaping and hard landscaping (partial) of the park. This involved importing and planting large matured trees for the project, and installing concrete pavers.
