One Za’beel is the flagship mixed-use development by Ithra Dubai that, at the time of the writing of this book, is under construction. The complex will be located between Dubai World Trade Centre and Za’abeel Park, marking the exact point where the old business district ends, and the new begins. The towers are expected to be completed by 2022. The architecture of One Za’abeel is uniquely pioneering and distinctly complex, comprising of two asymmetrical towers at 304 metres and 241 metres, respectively, that will be connected with the largest cantilever bridge in the world, called The Link. After completion, the steel and glass mega-structure will be 225 metres long and suspended 100 metres, from ground-level. Although connected via the mega-bridge, the towers remain separate at ground level, with a free-flowing highway separating them. Additionally, the Link will feature a wide range of attractions, luxury lounges and fine-dining restaurants.
Proscape was contracted to execute the soft landscaping, hard landscaping and landscape lighting for both podiums, and at the ground level.
